Man charged for allegedly robbing Oakland County Subway, bank

David Aguilar Jr. (Waterford Police Department)

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A man was charged for allegedly robbing a Subway and a bank in Oakland County.

David Aguilar Jr. went into a Subway on Dixie Highway in Waterford Township on Feb. 28, 2025, just after 5 p.m., approached the counter and allegedly told an employee, “I have a gun. I’m going to blow your head off if you don’t give me all the money.”

The employee opened the register and backed away. Aguilar allegedly grabbed all the money from the register and walked out.

Witnesses told police the car Aguilar used was described as a black Ford Taurus, which police believe was the same car described in the robbery at the Fifth-Third bank in Independence Township, which happened just before the robbery at the Subway.

Police found the car near Walton Boulevard and Joslyn in Pontiac. Aguilar was then taken into custody.

When law enforcement executed a search warrant on Aguilar’s car and his house in Pontiac, they found evidence that linked him to both robberies.
