It happened outside the mall.

“A group of juveniles had an altercation in the parking lot and that stemmed into gunfire,” Taylor Police Sgt. Wojtowicz said.

Three shots were fired and a 19-year-old man was hit in the wrist.

“Once he was shot, he actually walked into the mall and we rendered aid inside the mall,” Wojtowicz said.

Police said the mall did not go on lockdown, but many shoppers and employees were confused about what happened.

“That’s crazy and the fact that I even have to worry about my kid working here and something like this happening it’s horrible,” said Crystal Fielder who’s 17-year-old daughter works at the mall.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call police.
