WARREN, Mich. – A home is partly boarded up after a multi-jurisdiction police pursuit ended when the suspect reportedly crashed into it.
Just before 2 a.m. on Saturday (March 22), Warren officers responded to a burglary report at a marijuana distribution facility on Dequindre Avenue south of 14 Mile Road.
According to investigators, officers received information from other investigations that identified a male suspect driving a Chevrolet pickup truck as a possible suspect in similar business burglaries.
The department said officers began to canvass the area for any suspects or suspect vehicles.
Police later found a Chevy pickup matching the suspect vehicle description and tried to pull the driver over on Dequindre Avenue near I-696.
Instead of complying, investigators said 29-year-old Dijon Tyree led them on a pursuit.

Perhaps, the only reason why it ended?
Police dash-cam video shows Tyree losing control before barreling into someone’s home near Ewald Circle and Schoolcraft St.
“I looked out, and I said, ‘Oh, no – another car into the houses,’” said Bettye Madden, a neighbor.
Neighbors on Ewald Circle say the street is known for dangerous driving. The property owner even added a protection barrier by installing bollards and a guardrail.
When residents learned the latest incident involved a police pursuit, they raised questions.
“I thought the police [were] supposed to give up chase after a certain point and time. And then, for it to be the Warren police and this is Detroit, why didn’t you call Detroit?” asked a neighbor who spoke anonymously.
Warren police say the parole violator is under investigation for several similar burglaries across the tri-county area and is working with other law enforcement agencies.
“Mr. Tyree is the one who made the choice to run,” said Lt. John Gajewski, a public information officer of the Warren Police Dept. “If we would’ve terminated the pursuit, it would not have deterred him from committing another crime.”
Tyree faces multiple felonies and has been charged as a habitual fourth offender during an arraignment on Monday.
According to Lt. Gajewski, the case is an active investigation.
