MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to be smart when it comes to squirt guns.
The advice comes as high school seniors continue to play “Senior Assassins,” a game involving students stalking each other with water guns.

"Because the game involves a certain degree of hiding and seeking in an effort to surprise other players, we inevitably get calls reporting suspicious subjects that turn out to be students playing the game," said Sheriff Troy Goodnough.
Additionally, the sheriff’s office is asking students to be cautious when it comes to playing the game, saying that hiding in the dark with something that could be mistaken as a real gun is a “recipe for disaster.”
Students are asked not to trespass and to use brightly colored squirt guns. If approached by police, students are told not to run or hide but to explain what they’re doing.
