WILLIAMSTON, Mich. – A 25-year-old man from Livingston County has been arrested after a deadly wrong-way crash on I-96.
It happened at about 1 a.m. Friday, April 11, just west of Fowlerville. According to authorities, Ingham County Sheriff’s deputies received a 911 call alerting them to an eastbound vehicle driving in the westbound lanes of I-96 near Williamston.

Minutes after the 911 call, the sheriff’s office said the wrong-way driver -- identified as a 25-year-old from Gregory -- struck a westbound vehicle near Wallace Road. The driver of that vehicle -- a 23-year-old man from Washington state -- died at the scene. A 23-year-old woman from Washington who was a passenger in the vehicle was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
The wrong-way driver was arrested and lodged at the Ingham County Jail.
