DELTA COUNTY, Mich. – Four people were injured, and two of them are in critical condition, after an Amish horse and buggy was hit by a truck in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
At 3:28 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, Delta County deputies responded to the Riverland area on 18th Road near H.25 Road after receiving a report of a crash involving a pickup truck and an Amish buggy.
An investigation revealed that both were heading eastbound on 18th Road when the truck hit the buggy.
All four female passengers inside the buggy were injured.
As of Sunday, April 13, one of the injured passengers has been released from the hospital. Two are in critical condition, and one is stable, according to the sheriff’s office.
The male truck driver was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing. The Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting with the investigation.
