Bedford was reported missing by her mother on May 30, 2020, and as of now, her body has not been located.

According to allegations, Clark fatally shot Bedford in May 2020 at his home in the 12000 block of Cloverlawn Street. It is further alleged that he disposed of her body at another location.

The Michigan State Police conducted an investigation that led to Clark’s arrest on April 16, 2025.

He faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, mutilation of a dead body, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony firearm.

Clark is scheduled to be arraigned in the 36th District Court on April 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.

Jessica Bedford’s disappearance

Bedford was last heard from on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020, during a brief call with her mother, Kathy Parker.

“It was very brief,” said Parker. “‘I love you.’ That was it. Nothing out of the ordinary. ‘Happy Mother’s Day.’”

After that call, Bedford made a few posts on Facebook, but then there was silence—no calls or social media activity.

Parker has been caring for Bedford’s then-13-year-old daughter since her disappearance.

Before she went missing, Bedford faced personal struggles.

“She lost a close friend a couple of years ago, and her ex-husband died a few years ago,” Parker said. “Between the two of those, it put her overboard.”

Following those events, Bedford began spending time with friends. Her last known address was Hanover Street in Lincoln Park. She was also frequently seen at a Marathon gas station in Inkster.

Police have searched various locations connected to Bedford, including conducting a search warrant at a home in Lincoln Park.

“She started hanging out with the wrong people in the wrong places,” Parker said. “It escalated from there.”

In a concerning message, Bedford sent her mother a photo of herself with a bruised eye, stating that a boyfriend had hit her.

However, she never wanted to share too much information about her situation.

“I worry something bad has happened to her,” Parker said. “I want to find her. I know somebody knows something. They just need to talk.”

Anyone who has information about Bedford’s disappearance or whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Callers can remain anonymous.
