REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ€“ A motorcyclist was killed in a Redford Township crash on Sunday, and a possible suspect driver has been identified after leaving the scene.

At 7:43 p.m., on April 20, officers responded to Plymouth and Beech after receiving a report of the crash.

When they arrived, they discovered a motorcycle on fire, with a person lying close to it.

The officers dragged the person away from the motorcycle and rendered aid until paramedics arrived. The motorcyclist was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The victimโ€™s family has been notified.

An investigation revealed that the motorcycle was heading northbound on Beech Daly when a white Cadillac tried to make a left turn from southbound Beech Daly to eastbound Plymouth, causing the crash.

Police say the driver of the white Cadillac left the scene, but the vehicle was recovered in Detroit hours after the crash. A possible driver has been identified.

The investigation is ongoing. Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash at this time.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Redford Township Traffic Bureau Sergeant Jake Ditzhazy at 313-387-2541 or jditzhazy@redfordpd.org.
