Dearborn Heights bank robbery suspect arrested at Tim Hortons next to bank

Suspect allegedly failed to hide his identity by putting on a wig

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – A suspected bank robber was caught by police in Dearborn Heights at a coffee shop next to the bank.

It happened at about 2 p.m., Thursday, April 24, at the Dearborn Federal Savings Bank on Telegraph Road, near Colgate Street. Police said the suspect pointed a handgun at a teller and announced he was robbing the bank.

During the investigation, police reportedly found the suspect inside a Tim Hortons on Telegraph Road, less than 300 feet from the bank. He allegedly tried to disguise himself by putting on a wig.

Police were able to recover the money and took the man into custody.

Charges are currently pending.
