When we could see storms

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather for most of Southeastern Michigan due to the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening.

What to expect

As the cold front passes through, damaging wind gusts exceeding 65 mph are possible, along with heavy rainfall. While hail is also a possibility, winds are expected to be the greater threat.

The possibility of tornadoes remains very low.

Fortunately, the tornado threat remains very low as we approach Tuesday.

The cold front is expected to move out of the region by the end of Tueday, leading to a clearing of clouds overnight into Wednesday morning.
