Nearly 200 pounds of cocaine seized at Ambassador Bridge

DETROIT – Nearly 200 pounds of cocaine headed for Canada were seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

According to authorities, a Canada-bound vehicle at the Ambassador Bridge was selected for additional examination on April 20, where officers found multiple bricks of white powdery substance within two duffel bags. Further testing reportedly confirmed it was 193 pounds of cocaine.

Authorities seized the drugs, the truck and the trailer. The driver, a Canadian citizen, faces federal prosecution.

The case remains under investigation by ICE Homeland Security Investigations.
