36 at-large Michigan suspects arrested during 3-day sweep

Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals Service partner for ‘Operation Egg Hunt’

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested nearly 40 wanted suspects during a three-day sweep.

‘Operation Egg Hunt’

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said 100 violent offenders were targeted in “Operation Egg Hunt,” with 36 arrests made.

The sheriff held a press conference with Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Jimmy Allen from the Detroit office on Monday, April 28, 2025, to announce the arrests.

“Crime and criminals know no geographic boundary,” Bouchard said. “Law enforcement partnerships such as this are invaluable in the apprehension of dangerous perpetrators. We’re grateful for our longstanding relationship with the U.S. Marshals Service and our other federal partners.”

Five teams worked throughout Oakland County and surrounding areas from April 22 to 24 to make the arrests.

The suspects targeted in this operation had outstanding criminal warrants for their arrest. The sheriff’s office said they focused on suspects who were wanted for sexual assault, kidnapping, gun violence, robbery, narcotics violations and failing to register as sex offenders. Of the 36 arrested, 10 were sex offenders, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

3 of the arrests made during Operation Egg Hunt

Bouchard highlighted three of the arrests made during the operation.

  • Timothy Williams was wanted in connection with a parole violation related to a shooting that happened in Pontiac on April 18. He allegedly ambushed the victim in an apartment complex parking lot. Investigators learned that Williams was hiding with another fugitive, Antwone Smothers, who was wanted for outstanding probation violations for assaulting a police officer and domestic violence (third offense). The sheriff said Smothers was arrested in Pontiac on April 24, and Williams wasn’t there at the time of the arrest but learned that authorities were closing in on him, and surrendered later that same day.
  • Kindrico Martinez was wanted in connection with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to Bouchard. He was arrested at a home in Burton on Wednesday, April 23.
  • Joevon Draper Joevon Draper allegedly went to his ex-girlfriend’s house when she wasn’t home on Nov. 15, 2023, and kidnapped the 5-year-old daughter that they had shared custody of. The ex-girlfriend went to pick her daughter up from school the next day and discovered that the 5-year-old had never arrived at school. She then discovered that Draper had fled from Michigan with their daughter, which went against the custody agreement. Authorities learned Draper had allegedly gone to California, and he was arrested there, in Palmdale, on Wednesday, April 23.

3 suspects still being sought

Bouchard said more than half of the 100 suspects they targeted during the operation are still at large. Three of those suspects include the following people:

Joshua Michael Carloss (U.S. Marshals Service)
  • Joshua Michael Carloss, 34, is wanted for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer. On Nov. 6, 2022, Oakland County deputies responded to a shooting at a club in Pontiac. Surveillance video showed that Carloss was involved in the shooting and was seen with a gun. He was charged and failed to appear in court. The sheriff’s office said he’s been a fugitive since then. Carloss also has past convictions for home invasions, resisting an officer, and drug charges.
Brittany Cotrell (U.S. Marshals Service)
  • Brittany Cotrell, 39, is wanted in connection with failing to appear for a charge of aggravated assault on a police officer.
Maurico Miller (U.S. Marshals Service)
  • Maurico Miller, 43, is wanted for failing to appear on the charges of home invasion and assault with intent to do great bodily harm. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, on June 23, 2023, Miller was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend. Miller allegedly threatened her during a phone call, and then showed up at her home and kicked the door down. He found his then-girlfriend at her neighbor’s house and is accused of knocking her down and choking her.
