This summer, guests can expect a new coaster, the reopening of one that is nearly new, along with upgraded dining experiences and live entertainment.

“It’s been a long winter, but the entire Cedar Point team is ready to once again welcome guests as we continue our tradition of delivering amazing thrills, experiences and memories on Lake Erie,” said Colleen Murphy-Brady, Cedar Point’s vice president of park operations. “With Top Thrill 2, the new record-breaking Siren’s Curse opening this summer, a spectacular special event lineup and the many other improvements to the park, our guests will have so much to look forward to – we can’t wait to see them here again!”

Here’s more on what visitors can expect from Cedar Point in 2025:

Top Thrill 2 returns

People will be able to ride the Top Thrill 2 again this season.

The coaster, which is the tallest and fastest triple launch roller coaster in the world, according to Cedar Point, was shut down in May 2024, just a week after its initial debut.

Cedar Point said the closure was necessary because the manufacturer needed to complete a mechanical modification.

The Top Thrill 2 features a 420-foot-tall “top hat” tower and shifts into reverse at 101 mph during its second launch. Riders experience a backward climb at a 90-degree angle and then the ride shifts forward and reaches its top speed of 120 mph during the third launch.

Debut of Siren’s Curse coaster

Siren’s Curse is the tallest, fastest and longest tilt coaster in North America, according to Cedar Point.

The coaster won’t be available opening weekend, but it is scheduled to open at a later date in 2025. The park said that the date will be announced at a later time.

The ride’s signature element is a “broken off” section of track. It’s a 45-ton, 61-foot-long tilt track that teeters the coaster’s train into a 90-degree vertical position before it locks into place and releases riders to 2,966 feet of track below.

Live Entertainment

The entertainment lineup includes new and returning acts.

The “Bands in Residence” series begins on May 3 and features local and regional acts, while “Class of ’99 – Yearbook” at the Jack Aldrich Theatre features 90s music.

Guests can also find the classic rock show “Rock This Way” take over the Red Garter Saloon and “The Wild Mice” at the Boardwalk.

A full list of shows and schedules can be found on the Cedar Point mobile app.

Happy Friar gets an upgrade

The Happy Friar, home of Cedar Point’s “famous” fresh-cut fries, was upgraded, and features a new indoor serving line to help improve traffic flow and serve guests faster.

Famous Dave’s restaurant

A Famous Dave’s restaurant will debut at a new location in a few weeks, according to the release.

Now located next to the Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark Resort, the restaurant will be open year-round and offer in restaurant dining and local catering.
