A Waterford man duped by a phony Coinbase call says he’s lost his entire Crypto wallet.

The man, who lives in the 5500 block of Spring Brook, told Troy police that he received a message on his cell phone on April 24, 2025, at 8:18 p.m.

He told officials that his request to reset his Coinbase password had been initiated, and he was to call the number provided if he did not make the request.

The man said he called the number and was instructed to transfer his funds from his Coinbase wallet to another wallet, which he was told was also operated by Coinbase.

After completing the transfer, the victim said he lost all his funds, totaling $85,000, and quickly realized it was a scam.
