DETROIT – Detroit officials are excited to showcase major progress on the new $160 million Coolidge Terminal for the Detroit Department of Transportation.
The new facility will replace the former terminal, which was damaged by a fire and closed in 2011.
Currently, work is about two-thirds complete. Key features of the new terminal include employee locker rooms, administrative and training space, and radio dispatch.
Additionally, there will be a maintenance facility with heated floors and a storage building that can hold up to 150 buses, with the option to expand to 250 buses in the future.
Officials said they hope to have the terminal opened by the end of 2026.
