DETROIT – Wednesday is National Skilled Trades Day, and a Detroit sorority hosted a career fair to celebrate.
It’s the Detroit chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, and the skilled trades career fair is designed to connect teenagers and returning citizens with trade unions and job training experts.
The first session ran from 9 a.m. to noon for selected high school students, and the second session ran from 1-4 p.m. for returning citizens in the community.
The event was held at the sorority headquarters on West 7 Mile Road at Grand River in Detroit.
