WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A local business owner’s dream has turned into a nightmare after a high-speed chase ended with a car barreling through the front of a rental hall.
It happened in Trenton on May 10 at around 1 a.m. at the Le Lieu Venue near West Jefferson and Maple Street.
Trenton police said they were not involved in the chase, and it started in another city.
“It was definitely shocking,” said Reece Lewellen, the business owner. “My initial thought was, ‘no way,’ considering that we just opened the establishment. We’ve only been open for a couple of months. Briskness has finally started to pick up a little bit, and then, boom, we’re hit with another small setback.”
Although no one was hurt, that may not have been the case if the crash had happened just a few hours earlier. There was a function earlier in the night that ended right at midnight.
