SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police are investigating a head-on crash that killed a Whitmore Lake man.
It happened at about 11 p.m. Monday, May 12, on M-14, near Vorhies Road in Superior Township. According to authorities, a 26-year-old man from Whitmore Lake was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes when they struck an eastbound semi truck and trailer.

The Whitmore Lake man died at the scene. The driver of the semi truck -- a 25-year-old man from Ontario -- sustained minor injuries and is expected to be OK.
Police believe alcohol and drugs were a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
