3 Center Line students charged with gun crimes after weapon was brought to high school

One teen was held without bond

CENTER LINE, Mich. – The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against three Center Line High School students after they were found to have brought a gun into the school.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (May 13).

Officials said the evidence presented by the Centerline police, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged two of the students separately with:

Count 1: Lying to a Peace Officer, a high-court misdemeanor (felony) punishable up to two years.

Count 2: Weapons-free school zone, a misdemeanor punishable up to 93 days.

The third student was charged with the following:

Count 1: Receiving and concealing a weapon, a felony punishable up to 10 years.

Count 2: Carrying and concealed weapon, a felony punishable up to five years.

Count 3: Lying to a Peace Officer, a high-court misdemeanor (felony) punishable up to two years.

Count 4: Weapons-free school zone, a misdemeanor punishable up to 93 days.

On May 14, 2025, the third student had his preliminary hearing in Macomb County Juvenile Court.

Officials said the student waived his preliminary hearing, and his bond was denied.

The student was ordered to remain in the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center.

The pretrial hearing for the student is scheduled for May 21, 2025, at 3:30 p.m.

The other students will have their preliminary hearings soon.
