HOLLY, Mich. – Great Lakes National Cemetery will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday.
The veteran cemetery in Holly is hosting its ceremony on May 25, 2025, at 1 p.m. According to staff, it’s the biggest ceremony the cemetery holds every year. On average, 2,000 to 3,000 people attend the Memorial Day ceremony each year.
The ceremony will be held on the Sunday before Memorial Day so families can visit their loved ones without interference on the holiday.
Where to park
All visitors attending the ceremony are required to park at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. There, a shuttle service will transport visitors to and from the cemetery at no charge.
Accessible parking will be available at the cemetery for those with official placards only.
Flag placement

On Friday, May 23, starting at 5 p.m., visitors can place flags on veterans’ gravesites. Flags will be provided by the cemetery, and visitors can park on-site.
Cemetery staff will begin removing the flags on Tuesday, May 27. Visitors can help remove the flags off gravesites.
