From the broadcast, it looked like the member stumbled before suffering a leg injury while raking the infield ahead of the eighth inning in front of the Giantsโ dugout.
The Giants sent out their trainers as the man was in great disbelief. EMS was called to the field for medical attention as the game was delayed for a few minutes.
Members of the Tigersโ ground crew play a major part in the teamโs success as they keep the diamond prepared for a ball game.
For instance, when a hard-hit ball is hit and takes an infield hop, they want the field to be perfect so the players can make a clean play in the game for the guys playing.
Tigers assistant athletic trainer Chris McDonald attended to the man and began treating the injured crew memberโs left leg.
After some assistance, the grounds crew member got up as the medical team got him to the cart and took him off the field.
