Oakland County animal rescue searching for 2 puppies stolen from foster home

Puppies last seen in Oxford on May 19

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A Berkley animal rescue group is pleading for the public’s help locating two Australian Shepherd mix puppies stolen from a foster home in Oxford last week.

Luna and Ludo, two distinctive two-month-old puppies, disappeared from an outdoor play pen at Lake Villa Estates in Oxford. The puppies were scheduled to be adopted that same day, according to the rescue.

“These aren’t your typical black and white dogs running the neighborhood. They are not easy to miss,” said Stacey Jerome, co-founder of “No Dogs Left Behind.”

Jerome and her husband, Sam, established the foster-based rescue more than a decade ago, focusing primarily on mother dogs and their puppies. The organization has helped thousands of dogs find permanent homes.

The missing puppies were part of a litter brought to Michigan from Arkansas.

“They were all so sweet and cuddly. We got to watch them grow into little puppies,” Stacey Jerome said.

The couple has filed a missing report with Oxford Police but have not yet identified any leads. The rescue believes foul play was involved in the puppies’ disappearance.

“We think someone knows where those puppies are, and we just want them back safely,” Jerome said, adding that they would accept the puppies’ return with no questions asked.
