Man allegedly is demanding to speak to his mother

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – An active scene is unfolding at a Marathon gas station where police from Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Southgate, and Michigan State Police are negotiating with a man who is held up inside with a knife.

The incident occurred on Friday (May 30) at 4:30 p.m. when witnesses said the man allegedly entered the gas station holding the knife while running from the police.

He has reportedly been inside the gas station for at least an hour.

The suspect allowed the employees to leave, and he is currently alone inside the gas station.
