Detroit school sends students off in style with multicultural fashion show

They were modeling clothing that represented different cultures from around the world

DETROIT – As the school year wraps up and comes to an end for the summer, one campus in Detroit found a way to send students off in style.

The Paul Robeson Malcolm X Academy held its first ‘Around the World Fashion Mitindo’ on Friday (May 30). Mitindo means fashion show in Swahili.

Parents and community members gathered to watch students from kindergarten to eighth grade and their teachers strutting down the runway.

They were modeling clothing that represented different cultures from around the world, including those from Asia, South America, the United States, Europe, and Africa.

Administrators said this event was a way to have fun with the students before sending them off to summer break.
