Police said Stribling made up a story and said Bailei had been shot during an attempted robbery. He was arrested, charged and denied bond.
On Tuesday, May 27, Stribling was sentenced to 40 to 60 years in jail for first-degree murder and two years for felony firearm for a minimum of 42 years.
“Bailei Singleton should still be here with us today. Her murder was a tragedy for her family,” said Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “It’s unconscionable that anyone, let alone an 8-year-old child, could be murdered by a relative and in their own home over the slightest of disagreements.”
