Woman sentenced in Hamtramck police chase crash that killed 2

Driver ignored red light, hits multiple other vehicles

DETROIT – A woman will spend years behind bars for her role in a police chase that ended in a deadly crash.

It happened near the intersection of Conant and McNichols roads in October 2024. Police said it started with an assault during a traffic stop in Hamtramck, which resulted in a pursuit that came to an end when the driver ignored a red light and struck multiple vehicles in Detroit.

Two people were killed in the crash.

Aaliyah Daz Jhanay Renee Glenn was charged days later while still hospitalized with two counts of fleeing and eluding, two counts of reckless driving, two counts of driving with a suspended license causing death and two counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer causing injury.

In April, she pleaded no contest to reckless driving causing death charges. The other six charges were dismissed.

Glenn was sentenced Friday, May 30, to seven to 15 years at Michigan Department of Corrections facility.
