DETROIT – Eminem’s music publishing company, “Eight Mile Style,” is accusing one of the largest tech companies on the planet of infringing on the artist’s copyrights.

Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Messenger and WhatsApp, is accused of maintaining music libraries with Eminem songs for user-created content without a proper license.

According to a criminal complaint filed May 30, Meta allows users to sync the music to photos and videos across Meta’s platforms, collecting billions of views. While Meta has removed some compositions following the publisher’s approach, several prominent Eminem songs reportedly remain available.

Eight Mile Style is seeking $150,000 per alleged infringement on each platform Meta has made the songs available.
