Two friends in a Michigan lottery club plan to live debt-free after winning a $793,304 lottery prize.
One of the club members lives in Northern Michigan, while the other lives in Wayne County. The local club member has a cabin up north, so whenever the two friends are both in Northern Michigan, they play the lottery together.
“My friend, the other club member, lives in Northern Michigan, and we just recently started playing the Lottery together whenever I am up north at my cabin,” the club’s representative told Michigan Lottery officials. “We bought a Fast Cash ticket together and weren’t sure how much we won, so we scanned it and got a message to visit the Lottery office."
After that, they scanned their winning 5 Win Luck Clover Fast Cash ticket on the Michigan Lottery app and discovered how much they had won.
“We scanned it on the Michigan Lottery app next and flipped out when we saw we won the jackpot plus $250,000! It was a total shock and took a while to wrap our heads around it,” the club representative said. “I don’t think it’s going to fully sink in until we cash our checks.”
The lottery club purchased the winning ticket at Talley’s Log Cabin Bar at 2981 Kneeland Street in Lewiston, which is about 25 miles east of Gaylord.
They recently claimed their prize and said they plan to live debt-free with their winnings.
