WARREN, Mich. – A 22-year-old man is accused of killing another man at a home in Warren over the weekend, officials said.

Travis James Holdburg was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death, which happened on Saturday, May 31, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police and EMS were allegedly called to the home late on Saturday and found Holdburg standing in the driveway.

When authorities went inside, they found a man dead. He had multiple injuries and a large cut on his neck, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Holdburg was arraigned and given a $1 million cash/surety bond.

If released, he must wear a GPS tether, have no contact with any witnesses and he cannot go within a quarter mile of where the murder took place.

His probable cause conference is scheduled for June 10, and his preliminary examination is scheduled for June 17.

“This was a brutal and senseless act of violence,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “The sheer disregard for human life is both heartbreaking and unacceptable. Our office will pursue justice with the full weight of the law to ensure the individual responsible is held fully accountable. We must continue to stand united against this kind of violence and affirm that it has no place in our neighborhoods.”
