If the wildfire smoke from Canada that’s sweeping into Michigan is stopping you from working out, Planet Fitness doesn’t want you to stop.
The fitness center chain all across the state is opening its doors to anyone wanting to exercise for free now through Sunday, June 8.

EPIC Fitness Group, Impact Fitness, Cambridge Investors and Red Mountain Companies own and operate more than 80 Planet Fitness locations in Michigan.
Visitors will have no obligation to join Planet Fitness to take advantage of the opportunity, the company said.

Air Quality Index
St. Clair, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties are under an air quality advisory until midnight Saturday.
According to AirNow, as of 1 p.m. the AQI index is 164 which means the air is unhealthy. A “good” AQI index is 0-50 and “moderate” is 50-100.
AirNow explains that anyone in an unhealthy zone should limit time outdoors until air quality is better especially for sensitive groups like people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens.
