YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 20-year-old man from Jackson has been arrested for a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Ypsilanti Township.
It happened May 25, just before 2:30 a.m. on I-94, near the US-12 bypass. According to authorities, police had received reports of a naked man who was walking eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-94.

An ambulance from Huron Valley Ambulance arrived on the scene, but before they could contact the man, he was struck by a dark-colored sedan that did not stop.
First responders gave aid to the man -- identified as a 52-year-old from Warren -- but he died at the scene.
Police said they received a phone call on Friday, June 6, from someone who said they believed they knew who struck the pedestrian. A 20-year-old man from Jackson reportedly confided in the caller that he was involved in a crash in the area on that date.
When troopers interviewed the suspect, they found a damaged 2018 Chevrolet Malibu that they impounded for further investigation.
The 20-year-old reportedly told police he did not stop because he had been drinking while underage.
The investigation is ongoing, but charges are expected to be requested from the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
