Oakland County man arrested after allegedly stabbing his fiancé to death, police say

33-year-old killed; 25-year-old in custody

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Waterford Township man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed his fiancé to death, police said.

At 3:41 p.m. on Friday, June 13, Waterford Township police were dispatched to a home on Hackett Street after a man had called 911 and said that he had stabbed his fiancé.

When officers arrived, they encountered the 25-year-old man as he was coming out of the residence, and he was taken into custody, according to a release from the Waterford Township Police Department.

They found the victim, a 33-year-old woman, inside the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the home. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

The investigation is ongoing.

“Detectives will continue to gather facts and evidence in this case, all of which will be presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for their review and consideration of criminal charges,” said Waterford Township Police Chief Scott Underwood.
