OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A former Oakland County teacher was arrested and charged after she told another teacher that she was having a sexual relationship with a student, prosecutors said.
Jocelyn Sanroman, 26, of Pontiac, taught at Oakside Prep Academy and allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student in 2023, according to prosecutors.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office said Sanroman told another teacher that she was having sex with the teen. That other teacher then reported the information to police.
“This defendant is accused of using her position of authority to exploit a minor victim,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. “These allegations represent the ultimate breach of trust placed in educators by parents and the community. As a former teacher myself, I applaud the teacher who contacted police about this situation, protecting other students from further exploitation.”
Sanroman was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, which is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
