Animal Control officers said they went to the hotel and found 53 cats living in one room with a 51-year-old woman.

The room was clean and the woman had placed litter boxes all over, according to Oakland County Animal Control officials.

The woman asked to keep three of the cats, and Animal Control officers agreed because they said the cats were in good condition and the room had been maintained. They said the woman even knew the names of all 53 cats.

The other 50 cats were taken to Oakland County Animal Control, and they are available for adoption at the Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center, which is at 1200 North Telegraph Building 42 E in Pontiac.

Officials said the woman will not face charges.
