“Before he passed, he gave me one final piece of advice, ‘It’s time to let football go. You’ve done everything you set out to do. Now it’s time for the next chapter,’” Suh said in the post.

"That conversation stayed with me. So today, one year later, I’m honoring that wish."

Suh was picked second overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2010 NFL draft, and spent five seasons with the team.

He was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2010 and had five All-Pro selections throughout his career.

He also played for the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles. He won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020.
