Before the arraignment began, Eastpointe Detective Showers read the swear-to before the judge to set forth the facts for the warrant request in the case.

The detective said that on Thursday, July 11, Muhammad stabbed Harris multiple times with a kitchen knife at the McDonald’s restaurant.

Harris wasn’t armed and died from her injuries.

“Prior to the stabbing, Muhammad was sent home by Harris for not performing her work duties and told Harris, ‘I’ll be back,’” said Showers.

The detective said the knife was recovered at the scene, and Muhammad was taken into custody.

She admitted that she intended to kill the manager, according to Showers.

Muhammad told authorities that after she was sent home from work, she drove to a nearby park before she decided to return to the McDonald’s and stab Harris with a knife that she had inside her vehicle. Later on in the arraignment, an assistant prosecutor said the knife was longer than 3 inches and that Harris was stabbed up to 15 times.

“When Muhammad returned to stab Harris, she entered the back entrance with a hooded mask over her face in an attempt to conceal her identity,” said Showers.

After the attack, Muhammad tried to flee, but was stopped by an armed customer.
