OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has established a formal detour route for traffic traveling on Orion Road at Dutton Road on the Rochester Hills/Oakland County border, which remains closed due to damage caused by July 16’s flooding.
Orion Road at Dutton Road remains closed until further notice as RCOC continues to assess the damage done by the flooding and works to identify the best repair for the road.
In the meantime, utility companies have been busy restoring service lines that were damaged when the ground around the road was washed away by the flooding.
RCOC Managing Director Dennis Kolar noted a portion of the road was washed away by the flooding and will require reconstruction.
Kolar warned people to stay away from the washed-out section of the road.
