Both drivers involved sustained serious injuries

A serious crash has shut down Ecorse Road between Inkster and Middlebelt roads in Wayne County.

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A serious crash has shut down Ecorse Road between Inkster and Middlebelt roads in Wayne County.

The crash occurred on Friday (July 18) at 6:35 p.m.

A police investigation revealed that a 43-year-old Wayne man, driving a black Lincoln MKZ, crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a gray Ford F-150 occupied by a 42-year-old man from Van Buren Township.

Officials said both drivers sustained serious injuries.

Accident investigators are currently on scene processing evidence.

As a result, Ecorse Road is closed between Middlebelt and Inkster Roads.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
