Tricky commute: What to know about rain, snow mix heading to Metro Detroit Tuesday

There is a chance for a rain and snow mix from the morning rush through the evening rush on Tuesday.

Give yourself a few extra minutes on the roads throughout the day today. It might be a bit slower and slick.

Snow and sleet, changing to rain and melting snow is likely today, mainly southwest of a Saginaw to Mount Clemens line. Some patchy freezing rain is possible in our Southwestern communities.

Most snow will melt, but if snow persists from Southwest Washtenaw County and down into Lenawee and Monroe counties, we could see some minor accumulations on grassy surfaces.
