Downriver woman faces up to 20 years in jail after stealing more than $2M from her employer

WIXOM, Mich. – A 56-year-old New Boston woman has been sentenced to prison after admitting she embezzled more than $2 million from her employer.

Susan O’Hara reportedly embezzled more than $2 million from General RV Center in Wixom.

According to authorities, O’Hara used her access to the company’s systems and client information to issue checks that she would cash.

In August 2025, O’Hara was charged with three counts of embezzlement of $100,000 or more, one count of using a computer to commit a crime, three counts of forgery and one count of identity theft.

She pleaded guilty in January 2026 to three counts of embezzlement and one count of forgery. The other charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

On Tuesday, May 4, O’Hara was sentenced to 30 months to 20 years in jail and was ordered to pay $2,147,858.55 in restitution to General RV Center.
