MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A driver is in custody after a reportedly stolen U-Haul crashed in Macomb County.
The vehicle crashed at about 9 a.m., Thursday, May 28, at the intersection of Hall Road (M-59) and Garfield.
Authorities said it started in Clinton Township when police spotted a U-Haul truck that was reported stolen at about 8 a.m. that morning.
The truck sped off after officers attempted a traffic stop.
Police terminated the chase after the vehicle entered Mount Clemens.
The U-Haul ran a red light after entering Macomb Township, where it was struck by another vehicle, causing it to roll over.
The U-Haul ended up on its passenger side, requiring first responders to cut the windshield of the vehicle out to extricate the driver, who was taken into custody.
The driver, only identified as a 47-year-old woman from Clinton Township, was not injured in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
