A 46-year-old Clay Township woman was critically injured in an early morning crash involving four vehicles in China Township on Thursday.
According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just before 8 a.m. due to the woman failing to stop her silver Dodge Journey at the intersection of McKinley Road and Marine City Highway.

As she proceeded through the intersection traveling northbound on McKinley Road, she reportedly struck a White Cherokee driven by a 32-year-old Fraser woman. Two other vehicles were hit as a result, including a gray F-150 driven by a 22-year-old woman from Shelby Township and a white Elentra driven by a 40-year-old woman from Harrison Township.
All four women were transported to local hospitals following the crash, and the Clay Township woman remains in critical condition, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation by the St. Clair County Accident Investigation Team.
