DETROIT – One person is injured after a shooting on Detroit’s east side on Tuesday.
The shooting happened in the area of 7 Mile and Klinger Street on Aug. 11 at around 12:30 p.m.
According to Michael Chambers, the commander of the Detroit Police Department’s 11th Precinct, officers were patrolling the area and went into a business before they heard shots being fired outside.
The officers left the business to figure out where the shooting happened; they then saw a person fall to the ground on Klinger Street while two people ran away.
The officers ran to the victim and immediately rendered aid. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
Chambers said additional officers responded and used a K9 unit to track the suspects. One of the suspects was found about a block away from where the shooting happened and was arrested.
The second suspect is still at large. Chambers said the second suspect is a man in his late teens to early 20s wearing dark clothing with a head covering.
No details were released as to what stemmed from the shooting.
