DETROIT – Former Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan announced Friday he is joining a law firm.
Duggan, who has served as mayor for 12 years, announced on Friday that he is joining Honigman as a partner in its Government Relations and Public Policy practice.
This comes months after Duggan ended his Independent bid for Michigan’s governor in the 2026 election.
Honigman is a Detroit-based law firm founded in 1948, with offices across Michigan, Chicago, Washington, DC, and Israel.
“After years spent working to build Detroit, Sonia and I knew we wanted to stay in the city we love,” Duggan said in a statement. “This gives me the opportunity to keep doing the kind of work I’ve always enjoyed: solving difficult problems and helping people find a way forward.”
