OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – An Auburn Hills man who pleaded no contest to a criminal sexual conduct charge while he was on probation for a separate criminal sexual conduct charge has been sentenced to probation again.
Ian Matthew Johnson, 21, pleaded no contest to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct after a woman reported that he was following her through a Michaels store in Troy in April and asking her strange questions. He was also accused of rubbing another woman’s buttocks in the store, claiming there was a spider on her and he was trying to remove it.
When he was arrested at the time, prosecutors said Johnson was already on probation for another criminal sexual conduct charge.
According to the Michigan sex offender registry, Johnson was previously convicted of two separate counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct -- one on Dec. 11, 2025, and one on Aug. 14.
In previous incidents, police said he sprayed lotion on a woman’s back at a gas station in Troy because he found her attractive. And two weeks before that, he allegedly groped a woman on the Clinton River Trail in Auburn Hills.
On Sept. 18, Johnson was sentenced to 141 days in jail, credit for 141 days’ time served, and five years’ probation.
