OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Westbound I-696 at Woodward reopened Wednesday morning after a motorcycle crash.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reported the crash and freeway closure at 7:12 a.m. on Sept. 23.
According to Michigan State Police, troopers responded to a serious motorcycle crash on Westbound I-696 near Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak Wednesday morning. Drivers were detoured at Woodward Avenue while they investigated the crash.
The ramps from both northbound and southbound I-75 to westbound I-696 were also closed during the investigation.
State police said the freeway and ramps reopened just before 10 a.m., and the motorcyclist is expected to recover.
