Mark Wahlberg tells Amazon to come to Detroit during surprise visit at Greektown Wahlburgers

DETROIT – Mark Wahlberg surprised diners Saturday when he dropped by the Greektown Wahlburgers and made a pitch for Amazon to pick Michigan for its second headquarters and the 50,000 jobs it is projected to bring.

While in Detroit, he was asked about the push to lure Amazon to the city.

"Jeff Bezos, come on, buddy, this is the home of American industrial. Come to Michigan," Wahlberg said. "I'm going to call him myself."

Both Detroit and Grand Rapids submitted proposals to Amazon in an attempt to become the location for the headquarters.
