19-year-old arrested after Lansing police find stolen rifles in playground equipment

LANSING, Mich. – Police recovered two stolen rifles from a children’s playground in Lansing on Thursday (May 19).

A resident in the area called police when they saw a teen carrying the rifles through a residential neighborhood, according to police.

Police said the teen tried to hide the rifles in the playground as officers arrived. A police dog helped search the area and located the weapons.

“Who knows what he was planning to do with these rifles, glad we didn’t have to find out,” police said.
