Investigators located the child’s home and identified Glennie man Aaron Trout, 31, as the suspect. He was formally charged on Monday with felony murder and was denied bond.
Upon further investigation, police learned that Pavelka, the deceased child’s mother, “had knowledge of, or was involved with, the death of the child and was a flight risk,” officials reported Friday, July 29.
The woman was reportedly arrested in Lenawee County, then taken to and lodged in the Iosco County Jail. She was arraigned Friday on an open murder charge in the 81st District Court in Standish. She was also denied bail.
Authorities have not shared the exact cause of the child’s death. No further details have been provided at this time.
