SAUGATUCK, Mich. – Saugatuck Brewing Company is teaming up with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources during trout season to raise awareness and money for habitat restoration.

From May to October, Saugatuck Brewing Co. will donate for every case sold of its Rainbow Rodeo IPA to support the DNR’s efforts to protect and restore habitat that fish and wildlife need.

SBC and the DNR announced the partnership Thursday, April 25, 2024, at a press conference held on the banks of the Rogue River near Rockford.

“I firmly believe that by working together, we can preserve and protect Michigan’s natural treasures for generations to come,” said Scott Bowen, Director of the Michigan DNR. “This work isn’t just a job; it’s a responsibility we owe to our children and grandchildren. Every action we take today shapes the future of our environment, the outdoor-based recreation Michigan is known for, and the places we love.”

The DNR said money raised from this partnership will go toward work that will benefit Michigan’s waters and Michigan’s anglers. They are focusing on battling invasive species, growing fish populations, and ensuring sustainable fishing for future generations.

“We are beyond excited about joining the DNR in finding new ways to help solve old problems,” said Saugatuck Brewing Company CEO John Miller. “As a ‘lifestyle brand’ focusing attention and resources to help participate in projects like this is at the center of our values and a perfect fit for the brand Rainbow Rodeo to lead.”

The Brewmaster’s focus for Rainbow Rodeo IPA was to create a classic, easy-drinking, American IPA at 7%. The community can also donate online at fundraise.givesmart.com
